Eric Bishop passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008
Eric was hospitalized on Tuesday, November 25. After 7-8 hours of surgery, he passed away Wed, Nov 26. He was cremated on Friday, 28

- A full military funeral, Fort Custer in Battle Creek, Michigan, will be Friday, December 5 at 2:30.
- A memorial service will be Wednesday evening (December 10) at the Lafayette Theater Downtown Lafayette on Main Street
Obituary
BISHOP, Major Thomas Eric
Eric passed away suddenly on November 26, 2008. Born in Murray, KY, on March 10, 1958 and moved to Michigan when three months old. A graduate of Comstock High School, Comstock, MI and Western Michigan University as a 1st Lieutenant in their ROTC program and a history degree. Eric spent 17 years in the Armored Cavalry Black Horse Division, serving eight years in Fulda, Germany guarding the Iron Curtain between Germany and Russia. He retired from service while assigned to the ROTC school at Purdue University in Lafayette, IN in 1996 and lived there until this time. Survived by his mother, Ann Spaeth, of Kalamazoo; sister, Cheryl Toner, her husband George, and son Justin of Strongsville, Ohio; PV2 Travis Toner stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA; and step-sister, Marty Spaeth of Eugene, OR. Preceded in death by step-father, Earl Spaeth. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Fort Custer, MI at 2:30 PM, Friday, December 5. A memorial service will be held in Lafayette, IN at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Kalamazoo, or the Eagle Creek Rowing Club of Indianapolis, IN.
